Jamesville, N.Y. – Two beautiful days at Pompey Club in Jamesville were the site for the Le Moyne Fall Invitational on Sunday and Monday. The par 72, 5807-yard course played host to four schools and 25 golfers.
The Dolphins were once again led by
Meghan McKeen (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy), as she continued her consistent play. McKeen placed T5th after rounds of 85 and 83, to total a 168.
McKeen's top 10 finish is her sixth in a row, dating back to last year. She also set a new program record for most consecutive top 10 finishes, breaking Bianca Cruz-Hernandez's previous record of five. This also marks her second top five appearance, with the other being in last year's Le Moyne Spring Invitational.
After round one, the Dolphins were tied for third with The College of Saint Rose. The team finished fourth after day two, with a two-round total of 743, eight shots back of Saint Rose.
The individual winner after the two rounds was Erika Fuentes from Saint Rose as she shot two rounds of 78 for a total score of 156. She would close out her front nine narrowly missing a par putt on the par-five ninth hole to shoot a 42. McKeen continued to score well on the back nine, especially on the par three 13th hole. Her tee shot landed on the front left fringe of the green and she would two putt from there to par. She would then play the last six holes at just three over par. On the 365-yard par four 18th hole, McKeen parred to finish her back nine with a 43 and a total round score of 85, which featured eight pars and placed her seventh after the first round.
