Garden City, N.Y. – The No. 7 seed Le Moyne College men's soccer team will compete in the Semifinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Wednesday at Adelphi University. Kick off for the match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The No. 6 seed Adelphi University Panthers advanced to the final four of the conference tournament by defeating the No. 3 seed Assumption University in penalty kicks.
Adelphi tied their first round match against the Greyhounds at 2-2 with a goal in the 84
th minute, then neither side could find the winner during the two overtime periods.
After the game was sent to penalty kicks, Adelphi missed their first attempt from the spot, but then converted their next four. Adelphi goalkeeper Daniel De La Heras made a big save on Assumption's third PK attempt, then an Assumption player missed the team's fifth attempt, ending the match and sending the Panthers to the semis.
Le Moyne's quarterfinal match against the No. 2 seed Southern Connecticut State University also went to overtime, but the Dolphins were able to find the go-ahead goal in the 99
th minute when
Jack Goodrich (Kelsall, England/King's School Chester) scored a penalty kick.
Le Moyne scored two second-half goals on the road against the Owls.
Noah Sperduto (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira) scored his second goal of the season in the 54
th minute, then
Cameron Stuart (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) put the 'Phins up 2-0 with a rebound goal following a Goodrich free kick shot on goal.

Josh Mahr (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) recorded eight saves against the Owls, tying a season-high total that he set during the previous game against Assumption.
The NE10 revealed this year's
All-Conference award winners on Tuesday, and four Le Moyne players were recognized:
Tom Henne (First Team),
Ben Quigley (Third Team),
Jack Goodrich (Third Team) and
Cameron Stuart (All-Rookie Team).
Stuart is tied for 10
th in the conference in points this season with 16. The freshman leads Le Moyne in goals and assists with six and four, respectively.
For Henne, it is the third time in three seasons that he has earned an All-Conference nod, but it is his first appearance on the First Team.
The Panthers have a First Team All-Conference selection of their own in junior forward Rodrigo Descalzo Rocca, who has tallied nine goals and two assists so far this season.
Adelphi junior forward Victor Castel was named to the All-Conference Third Team after recording seven goals and four assists during the regular season, while freshman defender Andrew Watson was named to the All-Rookie Team.
Daniel De La Heras has accumulated five shutouts this season for the Panthers.
The Dolphins and Panthers met during the regular season on Ted Grant Field, and Le Moyne came away with a 3-0 win and an important three points in the conference standings.
The last time the two sides met in the NE10 Conference Championships was the 2016 tournament final, when #7 nationally-ranked Adelphi claimed a 2-1 victory on their home field over the Dolphins.
The two teams also met in 2015 in the First Round of the NE10 Championships, and Adelphi recorded a 2-0 win on their home field.
