Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's soccer team will play their second Northeast-10 Conference game of the season at home on Tuesday against American International College.
Each side played their conference opener on Saturday; the Dolphins lost an intense match against #24 Southern New Hampshire University that was 1-0 for most of the way until the Penmen extended their lead in the latter stages of the game and came away with a 3-0 conference victory, while the Yellow Jackets claimed a 2-0 road victory over NE10 opponent University of New Haven.
AIC will travel to Syracuse with a 3-0-1 record with wins over Post University, Caldwell University and New Haven, along with a 2-2 draw in a non-conference match against Assumption University.
Five different AIC players have scored one goal so far this year, while sophomore forward Charlotte Bernard leads the team with two goals through four starts.
As a team the Yellow Jackets have put 32 shots on goal and have given up just three corner kicks in four games, while the Dolphins have taken 20 shots on goal and earned 13 corner kicks during the same number of contests.
AIC sophomore forward Wilma Jansson has recorded all three of her team's assists so far this season, while senior goalkeeper Olivia Sousa has played every minute in net through the first four games. Sousa has allowed just two goals and has made nine saves.
American International has won each of the last three conference battles between the two sides. The most recent Le Moyne victory over the Yellow Jackets came in October of 2017 when the Dolphins claimed a 4-1 victory over AIC on Ted Grant Field. Prior to that they faced off in the first round of the 2016 NE10 Conference Championships. That match on November 1, 2016, was sent to penalty kicks when the game was tied 1-1 after two overtime periods. The Dolphins prevailed and advanced to the tournament semifinals by converting all five kicks from the spot, while AIC converted four out of five attempts.
After they each played the full 90 minutes against #24 SNHU, Le Moyne players
Hildur Unnarsdóttir (Kópavogur, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland),

Allison Moreau (Sauquoit, N.Y./Sauquoit Valley) and
Brooke Wilson (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton) have all been on the field for every single minute so far through four games.
The Dolphins currently hold a 2-1-1 record and have had four different players score a goal this season. As a team they have four assists collectively, and that total was contributed to by four different players.
