TYLER BIRDD COMPETES AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Warren, Ohio – Le Moyne College junior Tyler Birdd (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois) became the first Dolphin to compete as an individual at the NCAA Division II men's golf Championships by competing Monday through Wednesday at the par-72, 7287-yard Avalon Lakes Country Club.

Birdd finished the 54-hole championship with a 234 to tie for 96th place. He opened the championship by carding a 78, which included a trio of birdies and seven pars, to land in a six-way tie for 80th place. He then recorded a 77, which featured a pair of birdies and 10 pars, to close the second day in a tie for 89th. He rounded out the championship with 10 pars and a birdie en route to a 79 in the final round.

Birdd finished his year with a scoring average of 74.22 over a program-record 31 rounds. He posted eight rounds at par or under and finished in the top 10 at five events, including a first-place finish at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship and a third-place finish at the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional to earn the berth at the national championship.
