LOCASTRO NAMED NORTHEAST CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bridgewater, N.J. – Le Moyne College senior defender Lilly Locastro (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) has been named the Northeast Conference women's lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Locastro earns the honor for the fourth time this season, the most in the conference. She registered 10 caused turnovers (5.0 per game) and 10 ground balls (5.0 per game) in Le Moyne's 2-0 week, during which the Dolphins only allowed 12 goals. She opened the week by scooping up six ground balls and causing five turnovers in a 17-5 victory at Central Connecticut State on Wednesday. She capped the week with her fourth consecutive game with at least four caused turnovers by registering five to go along with four ground balls.

A starter in all 14 games, she has 45 ground balls and 40 caused turnovers, both of which are career highs. She leads the NEC and is fourth nationally in caused turnovers per game at 2.86, while she leads the conference and tied for eighth nationally in ground balls per game at 3.21.

Le Moyne (8-6, 7-2 NEC), which has clinched at least the fourth seed in the NEC Tournament, heads on the road on Wednesday at the University of Vermont at 4:00 p.m. for a non-conference matchup.
