Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's swimming and diving teams hosted LIU at the Rev. Vincent B. Ryan, S.J. Pool on Monday, Jan. 13. The Sharks' squads came away with both wins, taking down Le Moyne's men's squad, 158-136, and the women's team, 176-118.
"On the women's side, divers again had impressive performances as freshman Gabby Williams had season-best scores in both voluntary and optional events," said head coach Adam Zaczkowski '04.
"Sophomore Maddie O'Dea won her first dual-meet event of the season and I was impressed by sophomores Sophie Silaika and Abi Jaros in the 1000 as both gave season-best efforts."
"On the men's side, the meet was close all the way through," added Coach Zaczkowski. "Our divers helped us establish an early lead while sophomore Michael Han, and freshmen Mikey White and Lucas Clay all won individual events."
"There were close races and LIU swimmers out-touched us three or four times. Those close races, had they gone our way, would have given us the victory."
"We were still many points closer than last year and we keep closing the gap between us and other NEC foe."
We have a much needed off day tomorrow and are training again starting Wednesday. I know we're looking forward to the long Martin Luther King weekend to rest up and get ready for our next meet on Saturday, Jan. 25."
