Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team will begin its 2026 season on Sunday, February 15, as the team's full schedule was announced on Wednesday.
The team's 16-game schedule will feature nine NEC matchups and seven non-conference affairs and will include seven games at Ted Grant Field.
The Dolphins will open the season with a two-game trip to South Carolina to take on a pair of Big South Conference members. They face Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. on February 15 in the first meeting between the two programs. The Blue Hose went 5-12 last season, including 2-6 in Big South play. Two days later, the Dolphins head over to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on Wofford College for the first time. The Terriers are coming off a 9-10 campaign, including 5-3 in Big South action to earn the fourth seed in the conference tournament, where they won a first round game before falling to the top seed in the semifinals.
The team will open its home schedule on Saturday, February 21 against Niagara University. The Dolphins are 13-4 all-time against the Purple Eagles, who went 7-11 last year, including 5-3 in MAAC play to earn the fifth seed in the conference tournament, where they were upset by eighth-seeded Rider.
The Dolphins close out February with a pair road contests against in-state foes. They take on Binghamton University on Wednesday the 25th. The Dolphins won six of seven matchups against the Bearcats during their initial Division I tenure. Binghamton is coming off a 5-10 season, including 2-4 against America East competition. The Dolphins then head to Manhattan University on Saturday the 28th. The Dolphins went 10-5 against the Jaspers during their time together in the MAAC. Manhattan went 2-14 last year, including 1-7 in MAAC play.
The team opens March at home against Siena University on Saturday the 7th in the second game of a men's and women's doubleheader. The Saints went 9-9 last year, which included a 9-8 win over the Dolphins, while going 6-2 in MAAC play to earn the third seed in the conference tournament, where they advanced to the semifinals.
The Dolphins wrap up non-conference action on Wednesday the 11th at Canisius University. The Golden Griffs, who went 6-10 last year, including 3-5 in MAAC action, have won both matchups since Le Moyne returned to Division I after the Dolphins won 12 of 13 meetings as MAAC opponents.
The 'Phins are home for three of their first four NEC games to close out March. They open NEC play on Saturday the 14th against defending NEC regular season co-champion Stonehill College. The Skyhawks went 11-7 last year, including 8-1 in NEC action to earn the top seed in the conference tournament, where they fell in the championship game. The following week, the Dolphins head to the nation's capital to face Howard University, which went 1-14 last season, including 1-8 in NEC play. The Dolphins return home to host Mercyhurst University on Wednesday the 25th. The Lakers went 6-9 in their first season at the Division I level, including 6-3 in NEC action. The Dolphins close out the month hosting Wagner College on Saturday the 28th. The Seahawks are coming off an 8-7 season, during which they went 8-1 in NEC play to earn the second seed.
The Dolphins alternate road and home games in April. They start the stretch at NEC newcomer University of New Haven on Saturday the 4th. The Chargers went 13-6 in their final season in Division II, including 9-1 in the NE10 to earn the third seed in the conference tournament, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship.
Delaware State University comes to the Heights on Wednesday the 8th. The Hornets went 1-14 last year, including 0-9 in the NEC. The Dolphins then head to LIU on Saturday the 11th to face the two-time defending NEC champion Sharks, who went 12-7 last season, including 8-1 in NEC play to earn the third seed. The Dolphins are back home for the final time on Saturday the 18th against FDU.
The 'Phins complete their NEC road slate on Saturday the 25th at Central Connecticut State University. The Blue Devils went 2-13 last season, including 2-7 in NEC action.
The four-team NEC Championship is slated for April 30 and May 2 and all three games will be hosted by the top seed. Should Le Moyne or Mercyhurst win the NEC Tournament championship, the tournament runner-up will advance to the NCAA Tournament as the NEC's automatic qualifier as per current policy, while if Le Moyne and Mercyhurst both reach the championship game, the NEC will stage an "AQ Qualifier" game between the two non-advancing semifinal teams. This will serve as a decisive game to determine the team that will secure the NEC's spot in the NCAA Tournament. During its NCAA reclassification, New Haven will become eligible to compete in the NEC postseason in 2026-27 or 2027-28.
The Dolphins return 20 letterwinners, including nine starters, from last year's 4-13 squad, which went 3-6 in NEC action, while adding 10 freshmen and three transfers.
