Bridgewater, N.J. – Le Moyne College graduate student forward
Shilo Jackson (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central/Vincennes/Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) has been named the NEC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Jackson is the third Dolphin to earn NEC Player of the Week honors and the first since Kaiyem Cleary on January 23, 2024 (Luke Sutherland also earned the honor on December 18, 2023).
Jackson was honored after registering his conference-best seventh double-double with 19 points (including 15 in the first half) and a career high-tying 15 rebounds, while adding three assists, one steal and one block in a 72-64 setback at Boston College on Sunday. He became the first player in the conference to record at least 19 points and at least 15 rebounds against a Power 4 conference opponent since at least the 1997-98 season.
Through 13 games, Jackson is averaging 14.9 points on 62.6-percent shooting from the field, 8.9 rebounds and 2.15 blocks per game as a starter in each contest. He leads the NEC in field goal percentage (he ranks 24th nationally) and rebounds per game (39th nationally), is tied for the league-lead in blocks (29th nationally) and ranks sixth in scoring average.
Le Moyne (5-8), which ended non-conference play with its most Division I non-conference victories (4) in its three years at the level, opens NEC play on Friday at Saint Francis University at 7:00 p.m.
