Canton, Mass. – Freshman
Caroline McShea (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) placed 59th to lead the Le Moyne College women's golf team at the Red Bandanna Invitational hosted by Boston College on Monday and Tuesday at the par-72, 6137-yard Blue Hill Country Club.
The host Eagles won the team competition with a total of 886 following rounds of 299, 293 and 294. Dartmouth College was just one shot back at 887 after scores of 293, 295 and 299. Columbia University was third at 895 off rounds of 303, 292 and 300. Le Moyne placed 15th with a total of 1022 after rounds of 341, 347 and 334. Dartmouth's Sophia Li earned medalist honors with a one-over par 217 following rounds of four-under 68, 75 and 74.
McShea was Le Moyne's top finisher for the second straight week, placing 59th in the field of 84 with a 54-hole total of 248, which featured three birdies and 23 pars. She tallied a 78 in the first round, which included two birdies and nine pars, to land in a five-way tie for 26th place. She was in a four-way tie for 53rd following a second-round 86, which seven pars. She closed out the event with an 84, including one birdies and seven more pars.
Junior
Gianna Cafarella (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Preparatory School) placed 65th with a 251 total, featuring two birdies and 24 pars. She posted an 83 in the first round, including two birdies and seven pars, to finish in a five-way tie for 59th. She turned in an 86 in the afternoon, which featured eight pars, to land in 68th. She moved up three spots on Tuesday with an 82, which included nine pars.
Senior
Riley Stuver (Webster, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) finished 69th with a total of 260, which featured two birdies and 19 pars. She opened with a 91, including six pars, to land in a three-way tie for 79th. She followed with an 87 in the afternoon, featuring one birdie and four pars, to move into a three-way tie for 73rd. She closed with an 82, including one birdie and nine pars, to move up four more spots.
Junior
Cambell Kennedy (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Shenendehowa) tied for 73rd place with a score of 264, which included one birdie and 17 pars. She recorded a 90 in the first round, featuring two pars, to land in a three-way tie for 76th. She then posted an 88 in the afternoon, including six pars, to join Stuver in the three-way tie for 73rd. On Tuesday, she had an 86, featuring one birdie and nine pars, to remain in 73rd.
Freshman
Elizabeth Holden (Clinton, Maine/Lawrence) placed 79th with a 273, which featured two birdies and 12 pars. She carded a 90 in the morning on Monday, including two birdies and four pars, to join Kennedy in the three-way tie for 76th. She tallied a 92 in the second round, featuring five pars, to land in 78th place. She capped the event with a 91, including three pars.
The Dolphins return to action at the Lehigh University Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Architects Golf Club in Lopatcong, N.H.
