FRANCESCA TORTORA COLLECTS THIRD NEC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

Bridgewater, N.J. – Le Moyne College graduate student attacker Francesca Tortora (Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/Stony Brook) has been named the NEC women's lacrosse co-Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
 
Tortora receives the honor for the second straight week and for the third time in four weeks after registering five points on three goals and two assists to go with two ground balls in Le Moyne's 12-11 double-overtime victory at New Haven on Saturday. She registered the game-winning goal, her NEC-best fourth of the season, with 1:28 remaining in double overtime to keep the Dolphins undefeated in NEC action.
 
Through 12 games, Tortora has 38 points on 24 goals and 14 assists. She is sixth in the NEC in assists and total points, seventh in points per game (3.17), tied for seventh in goals per game (2.00), eighth in assists per game (1.17) and tied for eighth in goals.
 
Le Moyne (10-2, 5-0 NEC), which has won its first five NEC games for the second time in three years in the league, is back in action on Wednesday at home against Delaware State University at 2:00 p.m.
