Bridgewater, N.J. – Freshman forward Emma Sousa (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) has been named the NEC Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week and the NEC Co-Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Sousa and sophomore forward Kaitlyn Gilhooly (Chicopee, Mass./Chicopee Comprehensive) were also named NEC Prime Performers.
 
Sousa and the Dolphins had one contest this past week against Delaware State University on Sunday afternoon for the second NEC match of the season. Gilhooly opened the scoring in the 9^th minute, scoring a goal from the middle of the box that was assisted by junior forward Alivia Day (Rochester, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) and senior midfielder Giovanna Vigliotti (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee).
 
In the 22^nd minute, the Dolphins found themselves on a counter attack, as Gilhooly had the ball on the right wing. She cut a pass into the middle, finding the feet of Sousa, who took a touch before firing a shot with her left foot into the top right corner.
 
Sousa netted her 2^nd goal of the game and 5^th goal of the season in the 85^th minute, heading the ball into the back of the net off an errant Delaware State clearance.
 
The Dolphins three goals are the most this season as they took down Delaware State by a score of 3-1.
