Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's soccer team (4-2-2) are set to open NEC action this week following a successful non-conference schedule. The University of New Haven (2-7), (1-0 NEC) head to Ted Grant Field this Thursday before the Dolphins head to North Easton, Mass to take on Stonehill College (2-4-2).
Le Moyne's previous match was against cross-town rivals Syracuse University on September 19
th, a game that went in favor of the Orange. New Haven hosted their first NEC matchup against LIU this past Sunday, taking down the Sharks 3-1. Stonehill fell 2-3 to Holy Cross on September 23
rd, and are set to open their NEC season this Thursday against CCSU.

The Le Moyne Dolphins and New Haven Chargers met for the first time on November 15
th, 1975 in the first round of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament. The Chargers at the time competed as an independent, and the Dolphins competed as a member of the Middle Eastern College Athletic Association (MECAA). Le Moyne advanced following a 3-0 over New Haven, before eventually falling to Adelphi in the quarterfinals.
In 1981, the Chargers joined the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), and the two programs did not meet again until the 1992 season when the Dolphins also joined the NECC. Le Moyne held a 2-2 record from 1992 until 1995, with the Dolphins biggest wins coming in the final two matchups, winning 6-0 in 1994 and 5-1 in 1995.
Le Moyne officially joined the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) in 1996, and it wasn't until New Haven joined in 2008 when the two programs would face off again. From 2008-2019, the Dolphins won 12 consecutive times against the Chargers until their final two meetings in 2021 and 2022.
The Dolphins joined the Northeast Conference (NEC) in 2023, and history repeated itself in 2025 when the Chargers officially joined the NEC, the first time the two programs met as Division I programs.

The Dolphins and Skyhawks met for the first time on October 12
th, 1996 during Le Moyne's first season as a member of the NE10, winning 5-0 at Skyhawk Field. The following two seasons, the 'Phins earned a 2-0 and 2-1 win over the Skyhawks, until Stonehill won its first matchup in 1999.
The two programs had met every season spanning from 1996 up until 2021 before the Skyhawks would join the NEC in 2022. The Dolphins held a 20-5 record during that span.
Le Moyne officially became a member of the NEC in 2023, revitalizing the rivalry that spanned over two decades. In the first meeting as Division I members, the Dolphins and Skyhawks fought for a 2-2 draw at Ted Grant Field. The following year, Le Moyne took home a 2-0 win at Skyhawk Field, as last year's matchup ended in a 0-0 draw.
