BEN BEAURY NAMED ECAC MEN’S SOCCER CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Danbury, Conn. – Le Moyne College freshman goalkeeper Ben Beaury (Cohoes, N.Y./LaSalle Institute) has been named the Corvias ECAC men's soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Beaury, honored as the defensive player of the week for the third time this season (Sept. 10 and Oct. 1), recorded a 0.00 goals against average and five saves in two shutout victories in Le Moyne's 2-0 week. He registered three saves, including a pair in the second half, in a 1-0 win at the University of New Haven on Wednesday afternoon. On Saturday afternoon, he turned aside both shots he faced, the second which came early in the second overtime period, in Le Moyne's 1-0 double-overtime victory over 17th-ranked Merrimack College.

Through 12 games and 1116:03 between the pipes, Beaury is 8-4 with a 0.73 goals against average, 37 saves, a 0.804 save percentage and six shutouts. He leads the conference with his six shutouts and his .804 save percentage, while his goals against average ranks second. His six shutouts tie Matthew Silva '14 for the most by a Dolphin freshman in the program's history. In nine conference games, he has a 0.96 goals against average (third in the NE-10), a 0.791 save percentage (fourth) and posted three shutouts (tied for first).

Le Moyne (8-4, 5-4 NE-10) closes out its non-conference slate on Saturday against Felician College at 3:00 p.m.
