Bridgewater, N.J. – Le Moyne College senior attackman Brian Nephew (Irving, N.Y./St. Joseph Collegiate) has been named the Northeast Conference men's lacrosse co-Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Nephew, honored by a conference office for the first time in his career, earns the recognition after scoring a career-high three goals, including the game-winner in overtime in Le Moyne's 8-7 winner-take-all matchup against Robert Morris on Saturday. The win earned the Dolphins a share of the NEC regular season championship and the top seed in this week's NEC Championship.

His first goal of the game put the Dolphins up 2-1 with 3:53 left in the second quarter and his second goal gave his team a 5-3 advantage with 41 seconds remaining in the third quarter. After the Dolphins forced a turnover in the first minute of overtime, Nephew quick-sticked a shot from the right alley into the lower left corner of the net off a pass across the crease from Ryan Eisenmann just under two minutes into overtime.

Le Moyne (9-5, 6-1 NEC), which won at least a share of its 22nd conference regular season championship, will now host the NEC Championship Thursday and Saturday at Ted Grant Field as the top seed. The Dolphins will begin pursuit of their first NEC tournament title and 17th overall conference tournament championship on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. against fourth-seeded Detroit Mercy.
