NORTHEAST-10 NAMES MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS; FOUR SELECTIONS FROM LE MOYNE

3/26/2008 12:00:00 AM

South Easton, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2007-2008 Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving All-Academic Teams. To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.

Selections from Le Moyne Men's Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team include junior Alex Baker, and junior Zach Hisert. Baker is a natural leader, and a pure contributor in points. In his career, Baker has scored at least one point in every single meet. Coach Hannah enjoys his impeccable character, and excellent work ethic. Hisert came to Le Moyne as a swimmer and diver. He is a rare double-double scorer. Hisert was converted to diving his freshman year, but proceeded to swim as well. Hisert was a conference finalist last year in both swimming and diving in the NE-10 and main conference.

Selections from the Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team include senior Alison Lesher, and junior Meghan Nugent. Lesher holds eight individual school records, and is a six time All-American. One of her most prestigious accolades was captured in the 2008 season. Lesher captured an individual championship in the 200 Yard Butterfly. Nugent has been a conference finalist in every event she has competed in, and is one of the top scorers on the team this season.
