Box Score Worcester, Mass. – Junior midfielder Lindsey Bakal (Newark Valley, N.Y./Newark Valley) scored the game-winning goal with 4:27 remaining in the first overtime period to give the Le Moyne College women's soccer team a 2-1 win over Assumption College on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Multi-Sport Stadium.
Le Moyne opened the game's scoring at the 17:22 mark as sophomore forward Kelly Ristoff (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Siena) found the back of the net for the second time this season.
Following 41 and one-half minutes of scoreless action, Paige Radomski scored into the upper left corner of the goal from 15 yards out after a taking a pass in the center of the penalty box from Jaclyn Tomasello.
The Dolphins put three shots on target, while Assumption put two shots on goal over the last 28 minutes of regulation, but neither team was able to break the tie.
After having a shot saved 2:16 into the overtime period, Bakal netted her second goal of the season, and second game-winning tally of the year, at the 95:33 mark after gathering a loose ball near the goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kayla Werthmann">Kayla Werthmann (Macomb, Mich./Chippewa Valley) registered a career-high 12 saves between the pipes to earn her second victory of the season. Rachel Edgin made 10 saves in the loss for the Greyhounds. Assumption registered a 26-16 advantage in shots, while holding a 9-4 edge in corner kicks.
Le Moyne (4-4-2, 2-3-2 NE-10), which is unbeaten in its last three games, returns to action on Saturday against Southern New Hampshire University at 12:00 p.m.
