Maggie Monnat (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference women's lacrosse Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Monnat, who is the second Dolphin to be named the player of the week this season (
Erica Geremia three times), registered 15 points on seven goals (on eight shots) and eight assists in Le Moyne's 2-0 week. She posted a career-best nine points on a program record eight assists (the second-most in the country this season) and one goal in a 19-5 win over Southern Connecticut on Wednesday. Her eight assists eclipsed the previous single-game assist record of seven set by McKenzie Gray '09 against the University of Detroit on March 5, 2009. Brenna Bauer '13 tallied nine against the Owls on April 10, 2012. On Saturday, she recorded six goals in a 15-6 victory at then-19th ranked Bentley.
Through nine games, Monnat has a career-best 43 points on a career-high 18 goals and a career-best 25 assists. She ranks third in the Northeast-10 in points and is tied for second in the league in assists. In the national rankings, she is eighth in assists per game (2.78), ninth in total assists and 19th in points per game (4.78).
Le Moyne (9-1, 6-0 NE-10), which has won six straight games, is back in action on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. against 12th-ranked Saint Anselm College at Gill Stadium in Manchester, N.H.
