NINE STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED TO NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE SPRING ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS

Mansfield, Mass. – Nine Le Moyne College student-athletes have been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference teams for their respective sports, as announced by the conference office on Friday morning. Le Moyne had the fourth-most honorees in the conference with its nine selections.
 
Brett Charbonneau (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and Damian Powers (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) of the baseball team, Aidan Fuller (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) of the men's golf team, Logan Thomas (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Onondaga C.C.) of the men's lacrosse team, Maggie Monnat (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and Claire Monnat (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) of the women's lacrosse team and Courtney Case (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon), Kirsten Trotta (Wilmington, Del./Alexis I. Dupont) and Alexis Eastman (Endicott, N.Y./Union-Endicott) of the softball team were honored for their accomplishments in the classroom and in competition.

Brett Charbonneau, Sr.
Baseball
Charbonneau, a senior second baseman, earns his second Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team honors in the last three years. A Finance and Analytics major with a 3.566 GPA, Charbonneau earned a spot on the Northeast-10 Conference All-Conference Third Team after posting career-highs of a .288 batting average, a .364 on-base percentage, a .399 slugging percentage, 47 hits, 25 RBI, 10 doubles and two home runs as a starter in all 44 games. He also added 21 runs scored, 15 walks, nine stolen bases and one triple. He tied for the team lead in hit by pitches with six and ranked second on the team in hits, doubles, total bases (65) and RBI. He also ranked third in home runs and stolen bases and fourth in batting average and walks. He recorded 14 games with multiple hits, including two games with at least three hits.

Damian Powers, Jr.
Baseball
Powers, a junior right-handed pitcher, receives his first Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team honors. An Accounting major with a 3.639 GPA, he was selected to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Conference Second Team after going 4-4 with a 3.09 earned run average, 105 strikeouts and two complete games over 75.2 innings pitched over 12 appearances, including 11 starts. Powers was the only pitcher in the Northeast-10 to record more than 100 strikeouts in the regular season and he was seventh nationally in strikeouts at the end of the regular season. Additionally, he ranked ninth in the conference in complete games. He recorded at least six strikeouts in nine of his 11 starts, including six starts with double-digit strikeouts.

Aidan Fuller, Sr.
Men's Golf
Fuller, a senior, was named to the NE-10 All-Academic Team for the third consecutive year. An Accounting major with a 3.766 GPA, Fuller led the Dolphins to the NCAA Men's Golf Championships for the second straight year and for the third time in the program's history. The Northeast-10 Conference Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award recipient for men's golf for the second straight year, Fuller helped the Dolphins to four tournament victories and six top-two finishes with a career-best 74.2 scoring average. His scoring average is the fourth-best by a Dolphin over the last 11 seasons. A CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team selection, he placed in the top-10 at seven of the team's 12 events, including five top-five finishes. He shot par or under in a career-best seven rounds, including a season-best round of 68 in the second round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, which earned him his second consecutive Northeast-10 Conference All-Conference First Team honors.

Logan Thomas, Sr.
Men's Lacrosse

Thomas, a senior attackman, was named to the Northeast-10 All-Academic Team in his first year of eligibility for the honor. A Criminology and Criminal Justice major with a 3.637 GPA, Thomas was also selected as the Northeast-10 Conference Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award recipient for men's lacrosse. Named to the USILA All-America Third Team in late May after collecting Northeast-10 First Team accolades in early May, Thomas led the Dolphins with 64 points and 47 goals as the only Dolphin to start all 20 games at attack, while adding 17 assists, which tied for the second-most on the squad. He also recorded 28 ground balls and a team high-tying four game-winning goals. He ranked fifth in the Northeast-10 in goals scored and total points and was part of the three-way tie for 12th in assists. His 47 goals are the second-most by a Dolphin in a single season in the program's history, while his 64 points are tied for the ninth-most in a single season. The goal total trails only the program-record 48 scored by Randy Burnett during the 1988 season, while his point total is the highest by a Dolphin since Brandon Spillett '05 registered 65 in 2004. He registered at least three points in 13 games, including five contests with at least five points, and scored at least three goals in nine contests, including three games with a career-best five goals.

Maggie Monnat, Sr.
Women's Lacrosse
Maggie Monnat, a senior attacker, earns her third consecutive selection to the Northeast-10 All-Academic team. A Biology major with a 3.954 GPA, Monnat received a bevy of awards as a senior. The most prestigious of the awards she collected was being named the Northeast-10 Conference Woman of the Year. With this honor, she is now a candidate for the NCAA's Woman of the Year award. The Northeast-10 Conference Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award recipient for women's lacrosse for the second straight year, the first women's lacrosse student-athlete to earn the award multiple times, she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Second Team in early June after picking up her second straight CoSIDA Academic All-District™ First Team honors in mid-May. An IWLCA All-America Second Team selection for the second straight year, Monnat was one of only two Dolphins to record a point in all 21 games this season. A member of the IWLCA All-North Region Second Team and the Northeast-10 Conference All-Conference Second Team, she tallied 86 points on a career-high 47 goals and 39 assists as a starter in all 21 games to lead the Dolphins to the NCAA Semifinals for the second straight year. She added a career-high and team-best 40 ground balls, 18 caused turnovers and three game-winning goals, the second-highest total on the team. She ranked third in the Northeast-10 and was 19th in the nation with her 39 assists, which are the fifth-most in a single season in the program's history. She ranked fourth in the NE-10 and 14th nationally with her 86 total points, which are the sixth-most in the program's history. Monnat posted at least four points in 13 games, including nine games with at least five points. She had seven games with at least three goals and five games with at least three assists.

Claire Monnat, Sr.
Women's Lacrosse

Claire Monnat, a senior attacker, earns her second Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team honors in the last three years. A Biology major with a 3.984 GPA, Monnat recorded 18 points on 15 goals and three assists over 19 games played as the Dolphins advanced to the NCAA Semifinals for the second straight year. She tied for fifth on the team in goals and tied for sixth in points. She had four games with multiple goals, including a season-high three in a win over Merrimack on April 16.

Courtney Case, Jr.
Softball
Case, a junior shortstop, was selected to the All-Academic team for the second straight year. A Psychology major with a 3.623 GPA, Case led the Northeast-10 in batting average for the third consecutive year with a career-high mark of .450 after recording a career-best 67 hits, which included a career-high 13 doubles, two triples and one home runs as a starter in all 48 games played. A member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District™ First Team, NFCA East Region First Team and Northeast-10 Conference All-Conference First Team, she registered a .584 slugging percentage, a career-best .528 on-base percentage, a career-high 48 runs scored, a personal-best 26 RBI, a program-best 23 walks and 13 stolen bases. She registered multiple hits in 17 games, including seven games with at least three hits, while she drove in multiple run in five contests. In addition to once again posting the best average in the NE-10, she also led the league in runs scored, ranked second in hits and on-base percentage, was third in doubles, fourth in total bases (87), walks and stolen bases and 11th in slugging percentage and triples. Nationally, she ranked 17th in batting average and on-base percentage and was 30th in runs per game (1.0). Her average of .450 is the third-best mark in a season in the program's history, while her on-base percentage is the second-best, her 48 runs are the third-highest, her 67 hits are tied for the sixth-highest (most outside of the 2008 and 2009 seasons) and her 13 stolen bases are tied for the seventh-most.

Kirsten Trotta, Sr.
Softball

Trotta, a senior right fielder, earns her first career Northeast-10 All-Academic Team recognition. A Computer Science major with a 3.766 GPA, Trotta was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District™ First Team in mid-May. A starter in 45 of 46 games played, she posted a .304 batting average, a .428 slugging percentage, a .364 on-base percentage, 42 hits, 15 RBI, 27 runs scored, 12 walks, seven doubles, two triples and two home runs. Her 27 runs, seven doubles and 12 walks were all career highs, while her 42 hits and .364 on-base percentage were the second-best marks of her career. She registered multiple hits in 13 games, including six games with at least three hits, and plated multiple runs in five games. She ranked second in the Northeast-10 in sacrifice bunts with 11, which is tied for the second-most in a season in the program's history.

Alexis Eastman, So.
Softball
Eastman, a sophomore right-handed pitcher, receives Northeast-10 All-Academic Team honors in her first year of eligibility. An Accounting major with a 3.778 GPA, Eastman was named to the ECAC All-Star Second Team and the Northeast-10 Conference All-Conference Second Team. In the circle, She went 21-8 with four saves, a 1.89 earned run average, 138 strikeouts and 22 complete games over 192.2 innings pitched over 38 appearances, which included 22 starts. She was the Northeast-10 leader in wins, saves and appearances. She ranked second in the league in complete games and innings pitched, was third in strikeouts and was fourth in earned run average and games started. Nationally, she ranked 17th in saves, 32nd in wins, 73rd in ERA and 84th in strikeouts. She recorded at least six strikeouts in 10 starts, including five starts with at least eight strikeouts.
 
To be eligible for selection to the academic all-conference teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference teams are chosen by a vote of a committee of athletic administrators and Faculty Athletic Representatives (FAR).
