Ethan Miller (Swindon, England/Cirencetser Kingshill School) advanced to the semifinals of the singles draw and quarterfinals of the doubles draw to lead the Le Moyne College men's tennis team at the ITA East Regional Thursday through Sunday at the USTA National Tennis Center. The Dolphins recorded 18 wins between singles and doubles competition for the second straight year.
Miller got started by registering a 6-1, 7-5 win in the round of 64 over Adelphi's Thiago Negrao. He advanced to the round of 16 with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) victory over Queens' Mariano Bibiloni. He picked up his third win of the regional, 6-2, 6-3, over James Vincent from Post University. He moved on to the semifinals with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Adelphi's Marko Jovanovic. His run ended with a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Cameron Henricy of Queens.
Sophomore
Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) joined Miller in the semifinals. He opened play with a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the round of 64 over Adelphi University's Reece Farrow. He followed with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Ondrej Sramek of St. Thomas Aquinas. He then defeated Lucas Demuth of Queens, 6-0, 6-3, to advance to the quarterfinals. There, he recorded a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 win over Jarry. In the semifinals, he fell to eventual champion Jonathan Berling, 6-2, 6-3.
Graduate student
Tom Jarry (Paris, France/CNED Toulouse/Emmanuel), last year's champion, opened defense of his regional title with a 6-1, 6-0 win over the District of Columbia's Antonio Durall in the round of 64. He won his eighth straight regional match with consecutive scores of 6-3 over St. Thomas Aquinas' Lennart Lehmann. He continued his run by rallying for a 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 victory in the round of 16 over Omar El Shehawey from Queens. His pursuit of back-to-back titles ended in the quarterfinals with the aforementioned loss to Hatton.
Graduate student
Manuel Righi (Bologna, Italy/IPC Manfredi - ITC Tanari/Concordia (N.Y.)/Universita di Bologna) recorded a 6-0, 6-4 win in the round of 64 over District of Columbia's Mauricio Corty. He then was a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) winner over Moritz Borges from Queens. He fell in the round of 16 to Jovanovic, 4-6, 6-3, 10-5.
Senior
Kacper Piekarek (Wroclaw, Poland/Autorskrie Licea Artystyczne Akademickie/Missouri-Kansas City) rallied from down a set to defeat Adelphi's Thomas Horsley, 6-7 (6-8), 6-2, 10-6, in the round of 64. He then was knocked out by Queens' Cameron Henricy, 6-3, 6-4.
Graduate student
Fabian Sjokvist (Helsingborg, Sweden/Campeon Frigymnasium/Lincoln Memorial) was upended by Chestnut Hill College's Noah Cutting in the round of 64, 6-4, 6-1.

Alberto Diaz (Tenerife, Spain/Benito Pérez Armas/Nebraska-Kearney/Midwestern State) lost to Queens College's Lluis Miralles Miro in the round of 64, 6-0, 6-4.
Senior
Erik Adler (Lima, Peru/Santa Maria College) dropped his match in the round of 64 to St. Thomas Aquinas College's Don Lominoque with back-to-back scores of 6-2.
Freshman
Tomas Preidikman (Montevideo, Uruguay/The British Schools of Montevideo) fell in the round of 128 to the District of Columbia's Juan Hernandez, 8-3.
In doubles action, Jarry and Miller, last year's runners-up, advanced to the quarterfinals. They opened with an 8-4 win over Gustavo Kerber and Niklas Langenfeld of Post in the round of 32. They were 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) winners in the round of 16 over Max Kendler and Ody Papaioannou of St. Thomas Aquinas. Their run ended in the quarterfinals with a 3-6, 6-3, 10-6 loss to Queens' Mariano Bibiloni and Lucas Demuth.
Righi and Hatton registered an 8-3 win in the round of 32 over the District of Columbia's Louis Mangeon and Mauricio Corty. They fell to Guilherme Salim and Marcos Lee of Dominican in the round of 16 with back-to-back scores of 6-3.
Piekarek and Adler teamed for an 8-6 win over Franklin Pierce's Ethan Hall and Paul McLellan in the round of 64. They fell in the round of 32 to Ludovico Truffelli and Alberto Navarro of St. Thomas Aquinas, 8-3.
Diaz and Sjokvist were downed in the round of 32 by Tiago Lima and Joao Sousa of Chestnut Hill, 8-4.
The Dolphins return to action during the Spring semester.
