WOMEN IN SEVENTH PLACE, MEN EIGHTH AFTER DAY 1 OF THE NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Boston, Mass. – The Le Moyne College women's indoor track and field team is in seventh place and the men's team is in eighth place following the first day of the NE10 Conference Championships on Thursday at the Boston Landing Track & Field Complex.
 
Redshirt Sophomore Madison Kozyra (Marcy, N.Y./Whitesboro) placed second in the weight throw with a distance of 48-feet, 1.75-inches (14.67 meters), beating her personal and school record.
 
Sophomore Anita Jepchirchir (Eldoret, Kenya), senior Catherine Durant (Arverne, N.Y./Metropolitan Expeditionary Learning School), senior Cleo Baker (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post), and redshirt sophomore Sophia Bisognano (Albany, N.Y./Colonie) finished sixth in the 4000-meter distance medley relay with a combined time of 13:02.60.

Senior Maggie Casey (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) finished eighth in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:46.03.

Senior Shaina Smith (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) earned a berth in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.04 seconds in the prelims.
 
Freshman Lilly Capria (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) finished 11th in the long jump with a leap of 16-feet, 3.75-inches (4.97 meters).

On the men's side, senior Christian Carlin-Saracene (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) earned a spot in the finals by placing eighth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.57.
 
Junior Matt Bartolotta (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) finished 14th in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:23.60 and sophomore Jack Gibson (Ilion, N.Y./Central Valley Academy) was just behind with a time of 16:23.76.
 
Sophomore Evan Breitbeck (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse), sophomore Brandon Scott (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee), sophomore Jacob Cottet (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) and redshirt sophomore Jeremy Plumley (Camden, N.Y./Camden) finished eighth in the 4000-meter distance medley relay with a combined time of 10:53.65 to earn the team's point.
 
Senior Nolan Hillhouse (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon) finished 14th in the long jump with a mark of 20-feet, 1.75-inchess (6.14m).
 
For the Heptathlon, senior Nicholas Hafner (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) is in fifth place through four events with 2389 points. He finished sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.49 for 716 points, tied for third in the high jump with a height of 5-feet, 9.75-inches for 602 points, fifth in the long jump with a distance of 19-feet, 5.25-inches for 569 points and sixth in the shot put with a mark of 33-feet, 8.75-inches for 502 points.
 
Day two of the NE10 Championships gets underway on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Boston Landing Track & Field Complex.
