Bridgewater, N.J. – Senior midfielder Danielle Casey (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) has been named the Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week, as well as an NEC Prime Performer.

Casey scored two goals, including the late game winner with just under five minutes remaining in the game.

During Sunday's game against Iona, Le Moyne trailed the Gaels late into the 2nd half 2-1. In the 74th minute of action, junior defender/midfielder Jasmina Barhoumi (Worms, Germany/Nelly-Sachs-IGS/D'Youville) picked up the ball in the middle of the field, playing a ball over the top of the outstretched defense of Iona. Casey would be the first to the ball, shielding off defenders and firing a shot into the left corner of the goal, bringing the 'Phins back to a 2-2 game.

With 4:30 left in the game, freshman defender Mallory Pietrzak (Rochester, N.Y./Penfield) found herself with time on the ball, and whipped a cross into the box, finding the feet of Casey. Casey took a touch to control the pass, and hit a shot with her right foot into the top corner of the net, giving Le Moyne their first lead of the game. 

Le Moyne would go on to win the game 3-2 to capture their first victory of the season. The 'Phins are set to host Temple University on Ted Grant Field Thursday at 3:00 P.M.
