TRACK & FIELD SET ONE PROGRAM RECORD, TWELVE PERSONAL BESTS AT RIT THURSDAY MEET

Rochester, N.Y. - The Le Moyne College men's and women's track & field teams set one program record and twelve personal bests at the RIT Thursday Meet.

"Our student-athletes put into practice the theme for the meet, which was to use the other competition to pull them to better performances," said assistant coach Marie Grasso. "This mindset helped to produce many personal best, and a new school record in the women's long jump event."

On the men's side, senior Brandon Scott (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) placed 7th overall in the 200m event after finishing with a time of 23.71. Junior Payton Hirsch (Hamilton, N.Y./Morrisville-Eaton) clocked in just 0.06 seconds later, earning him an 8th place finish in a time of 23.78.

In the 400m event, Hirsch led the way for the Dolphins after placing 4th overall with a time of 52.51. Scott earned himself a 9th place finish after crossing the line in a time of 53.75.

Freshman Carson Campbell (Lee Center, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) set a personal best in the 800m event, placing 10th overall with a time of 2:03.49.

Freshman Michael Daley (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) also set a personal best in the 1000m event after earning himself a 2nd place finish with a time of 2:43.49.

Senior Jacob Cottet (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) set a personal best in the Mile event, placing 6th overall clocking in with a time of 4:44.34.

Freshman Trevon Walker (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) placed 5th overall in the long jump event after jumping a distance of 20-feet, 10.5-inches. Walker also placed 4th overall in the triple jump event after earning a distance of 40-feet, 6-inches, setting a new personal best. Freshman Carter DeRosa (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) placed 6th overall in the triple jump event after earning a distance of 39-feet, 1-inch.

On the women's side, senior Delaney Manahan (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) placed 9th overall in the 200m event after finishing with a time of 28.54. She also set a personal best in the 60m after placing 12th overall with a time of 8.65.

Sophomore Amanda Lowenguth (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) set a personal best in the 400m event after placing 10th overall with a time of 1:07.96.

Junior Lilly Capria (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) set a program record in the long jump event after placing 3rd overall with a distance of 16-feet, 11.25-inches. She also placed 2nd overall in the high jump event after earning a height of 5-feet, 1.75-inches.

Both the men and women will compete at the upcoming John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University. The women's events will be held Friday, January 31st beginning at 10:30 A.M., and the men's events will be held Saturday, February 1st beginning at 10:30 A.M.
