Sparks, Md. – Le Moyne College sophomore goalkeeper
Lucas Winger (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) has been named a USA Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention selection, as announced on Thursday afternoon.
USA Lacrosse All-Americans are selected by staff and contributors.
Winger earns the accolade after being named the Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-Conference First Team last week, becoming the seventh Dolphin goalkeeper, for a total of 12 times, to be selected as the top goalie in a conference. A starter in each of the last 10 games of the season, Winger registered a 7.70 goals against average, 147 saves and a .636 save percentage over 654:38 between the pipes. The Conference's Defensive Player of the Week on three occasions, he led the NEC in goals against average and save percentage. If Le Moyne student-athletes were eligible for national rankings, he would lead Division I in save percentage and rank second in goals against average. He made at least 10 saves in all 10 starts along with the Hobart game when he seized the position, including four games with at least 15 saves.
The Dolphins finished their second year at the Division I level and first in the NEC with a 9-6 overall record and a 6-1 mark in league play, which earned the program a share of the regular season conference championship and the top seed in last week's league tournament.
