St. Charles, Mo. – Following a three-game homestand, the Le Moyne College men's soccer team (1-4) will resume non-conference play on the road this Sunday as they travel to St. Charles, Missouri for a match against Lindenwood University (RV, 6-0). The contest will kickoff at 2:00 PM ET / 1:00 PM CT and will be streamed on ESPN+.

MATCHUP HISTORY:
Le Moyne and Lindenwood met for the first time in men's soccer during the 2023 season, with the Lions claiming a 2-1 win over the Dolphins at Ted Grant Field in Le Moyne's first home match as a Division I program.

Lindenwood transitioned from Division II to Division I ahead of the 2022-23 academic year, and is currently a member of the Ohio Valley Conference.

During the 2023 meeting in Syracuse, Le Moyne outshot Lindenwood 8-5 during the 90 minutes, and held the advantage in corner kicks by a tally of 9-3, but the Lions built a 2-0 lead with goals in the 35th and 75th minutes before the Dolphins converted a penalty kick in the 88th minute to make it 2-1.

DOLPHIN RUNDOWN:
The Dolphins suffered a 3-0 loss against No. 23 Cornell University on August 30 to open their three-game homestand, then registered a 2-1 comeback win against St. Bonaventure University on September 3 before falling to Binghamton University by a score of 3-2 on September 7.

During the win over St. Bonaventure, the Dolphins fell behind 1-0 in the 12th minute, but found the equalizer in the 24rd minute as graduate forward Francesco Pagano (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius/Syracuse/Coastal Carolina) collected a pass from sophomore forward Rhys Allport (Wirral, England/Reaseheath) and smashed a right-footed shot into the back of the net. The goal was Le Moyne's first of the season, and the first for Pagano as a Dolphin.

A brilliant strike by Andrew Piccolo (Toronto, Ontario/Michael Power-St. Joseph) from long distance in the 70th minute curled around the SBU keeper, hit the right post and ricocheted into the back of the net to put the Dolphins in front 2-1. Piccolo's goal, the first of his career, proved to be the winner, lifting the Dolphins to their first victory of the campaign.

Le Moyne recorded season highs in shots (15) and shots on goal (7) against the Bonnies.

The Dolphins outshot the Binghamton Bearcats on Sunday by a tally of 11-10, and took an early lead as redshirt-sophomore forward Felix Ludemann (Wrestedt, Germany/Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium Uelzen) ran onto a pass from redshirt-sophomore midfielder Diego Martinez (Veracruz, Mexico/Gulf Coast (Fla.) in the fifth minute and placed his left-footed shot around the oncoming goalkeeper, but Binghamton responded with three consecutive goals in quick succession midway through the second half to open up a 3-1 lead. Le Moyne trimmed its deficit to 3-2 in the 83rd minute as junior defender Karl Lundstrom Svahnqvist (Lexington, Mass./South Kent/Bellarmine) registered his first career goal, heading home a free kick delivery from graduate midfielder Antonino Pagano (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius/Syracuse/Coastal Carolina), who collected his first career assist on the play.

Through five games in 2025, Francesco Pagano leads the Dolphins in total shots (10), and his three shots on target are tied for the most on the team with Ludemann.

Junior goalkeeper Wyatt Dupell (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) and junior defender/midfielder Maximilian Huss (Karben, Germany/Elly-Heuss-Schule) have both played the full 90 minutes in all five games so far this season.

Defenders Xaver Ehrlich (437) and Mattia Boldrini (428) have both also logged over 400 minutes through five starts.

Following Sunday's match at Lindenwood, the Dolphins will play their final non-conference game at Niagara University on September 19. Le Moyne will begin NEC action on September 28 at home against Saint Francis University.

SCOUTING THE LIONS:
Lindenwood, which received votes in the most recent United Soccer Coaches National Top 25 Poll, will enter Sunday with a 6-0 record, having most recently claimed home wins against University of Saint Thomas and Division III side Westminster College.

The Lions began the 2025 campaign with a 7-0 win at NEC side Chicago State University.

Lindenwood compiled an 11-6-3 record in 2024, including a 6-2-2 resume against OVC competition, but fell to Houston Christian University in the OVC Championship Semifinals.

Lindenwood was picked to finish third in the 2025 OVC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll, behind SIUE and Houston Christian.

Graduate forward Sebastià Cerdà Tous was selected as Lindenwood's Player to Watch prior to the season. A transfer from Catawba College, where he tallied 15 goals and three assists across three seasons, Cerdà Tous has registered two goals and two assists through six games played this season for the Lions.

Senior forward Ethan Blake, who led the Lions in points during the 2024 season with eight goals and nine assists across 20 games played, has registered three goals and three assists for the Lions so far in 2025.

Graduate midfielder Matteo Landais leads Lindenwood in points so far this season with three goals and a team-high six assists, while senior defender Leandro Haesler has distributed four assists to go along with one goal in a team-high 484 minutes played.

Graduate goalkeeper Quinn Closson, a transfer from the University of North Carolina, has started five games in goal during his first season with the Lions, totaling three shutouts with 16 total saves and a 0.42 goals against average. Closson's goals against average ranks 28th among all Division I goalkeepers.

Lindenwood's +17 goal differential through six games ranks second in the country. They are also first among all Division I programs in total goals (21) and total assists (24), as well as third in assists per game (4.0), points per game (11.0) and goals per game (3.5), and fifth in shots per game (19.17).

Lindenwood was slotted No. 4 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches North Region rankings behind nationally top-ranked Indiana, Maryland and Michigan.

Following Sunday's match, the Lions will conclude non-conference play at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on September 19 before kicking off OVC play at SIUE on September 27.
