Niagara University, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's soccer team will play its final non-conference game of the season Friday evening at Niagara University. Kickoff for Friday's match between the Dolphins and the Purple Eagles is set for 7:00 p.m. at Niagara Field. The contest will be streamed on
ESPN+.
MATCHUP HISTORY:
Le Moyne and Niagara met for the first time as Division I opponents last season in Syracuse and played to a 1-1 draw. The Dolphins went ahead in the 51
st minute on the first career goal from midfielder
Jackson Card (McGraw, N.Y./McGraw), then the Purple Eagles found the equalizer with just over four minutes remaining in the match.
Le Moyne outshot Niagara 18-14 during the 90 minutes, and held the advantage in shots on goal by a tally of 9-5.
Le Moyne goalkeeper
Wyatt Dupell (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) recorded four saves for the Dolphins during the draw, while sophomore forward
Rhys Allport (Wirral, England/Reaseheath) tallied a team-high three shots with one on target.

Le Moyne (1-5) most recently suffered a 2-0 setback Sunday at Lindenwood University, which received votes in the September 16 edition of the United Soccer Coaches National Top 25 Poll.
Allport recorded a game-high four shots for Le Moyne, including two shots on target in 75 minutes played.
Diego Martinez (Veracruz, Mexico/Gulf Coast (Fla.),
Francesco Pagano (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius/Syracuse/Coastal Carolina),
Felix Ludemann (Wrestedt, Germany/Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium Uelzen) and
Antonino Pagano (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius/Syracuse/Coastal Carolina) each added one shot on goal against the Lions.
Sophomore forward
Noah Morelli (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Niagara-Wheatfield) made his first career start on Sunday, logging a career-high 55 minutes played at Lindenwood.
Le Moyne captured its first win of the season on September 3 against St. Bonaventure by a score of 2-1.
Francesco Pagano put away his first goal as a Dolphin off an assist from Allport to tie the match at 1-1 in the first half, then sophomore defender
Andrew Piccolo (Toronto, Ontario/Michael Power-St. Joseph) provided the game-winner in the 70
th minute on a right-footed shot from distance. The goal was the first of his career.
Dupell and junior midfielder/defender
Maximilian Huss (Karben, Germany/Elly-Heuss-Schule) have both played the full 90 minutes in each Le Moyne's first six games this season.
Ludemann and junior defender
Karl Lundstrom Svahnqvist (Lexington, Mass./South Kent/Bellarmine) both scored during a 3-2 loss against Binghamton on September 7 off assists from Martinez and
Antonino Pagano.
Allport (10) and
Francesco Pagano (11) have both recorded double-digit shots so far this season for Le Moyne, while Ludemann has recorded four shots on goal on seven total shot attempts.
Defenders
Mattia Boldrini (510) and
Xaver Ehrlich (505) have both logged over 500 minutes through six starts.
Through 34 career starts in goal, Dupell has accumulated 118 saves, which is tied for the 18
th-most in program history. He also ranks ninth in goals against average at 1.65.
Following Friday's match against the Purple Eagles, Le Moyne will begin NEC play at home against Saint Francis University on September 28.
SCOUTING THE PURPLE EAGLES:
The Niagara Purple Eagles (2-3, 0-1 MAAC) began the season with a 3-2 win at St. Bonaventure, claimed a 4-3 win over Robert Morris in their home opener on September 7, and most recently dropped their MAAC opener at Fairfield on September 15 by a score of 2-0.
Graduate midfielder Juan Cardona leads the Purple Eagles in points with two goals and one assist through five starts. Cardona tallied three points via one goal and one assist during the win over Robert Morris.
Graduate midfielder Landon Hungerford also produced one goal and one assist against RMU, and recorded an assist during a 3-1 loss to UMBC. Hungerford leads all Niagara players in minutes played at 446 through five starts.
Cardona (420), junior forward Reon Tezuka (415), junior midfielder Jeremie Truel (404) and sophomore defender Chase Dade (402) have each seen over 400 minutes of action so far this season.
Chase has tallied a team-high six shots on goal in 2025.
Junior goalkeeper Grant Wyles has made four starts in goal for the Purple Eagles, holding a 2-2 record with 17 saves and a 2.50 goals against average.
Niagara is led by head coach Bill Boyle, who is in his 10
th season at the helm of the program.
Friday's contest against Le Moyne will mark Niagara's final non-conference match of the season. The Purple Eagles will resume MAAC play on September 27 at home against Rider.
