MEN'S AND WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD SET THREE PROGRAM RECORDS AT LEOPARD INVITE

Easton, Pa. - Sophomore Christopher Moser (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) and freshman Christopher Zajdel (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) set three program records as men's and women's outdoor track & field compete at the Leopard Invite on Saturday.

"Today we were glad to be down at Lafayette College instead of the cold and rain here in Syracuse," said head coach Robin Wheeless. "It was warm and sunny, but it was very windy and the strong gusts of wind forced us to do some extra work tying down some tents. Even with the weather, we still had a few personal bests and set a few program records."

Zajdel had the most individual success for the 'Phins after earning himself a 1st place finish in the men's 400m, setting a program record with a time of 49.30. He also competed in the men's 200m event, placing 11th overall with a time of 22.25.

In the men's 100m event, Moser set a program record after placing 17th overall with a time of 11.18. Redshirt-junior Connor Scott (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) placed 25th overall after running a time of 11.52. Freshman Trevon Walker (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) ran a time of 11.82 to place 33rd overall.

Moser also set a program record in the 200m event with a time of 22.18, earning himself a 10th place finish. Zajdel finished just 0.07 seconds behind Moser, placing 11th overall with a time of 22.25, a personal best. Sophomore Skylar Gravell (Malone, N.Y./Franklin Academy) placed 14th overall after running a time of 22.52. Junior Jordan Johnson (Plainfield, N.J./Timothy Christian School) ran a time of 22.78 to earn himself 20th place finish. Junior Payton Hirsch (Hamilton, N.Y./Morrisville-Eaton) and senior Brandon Scott (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) placed 43rd and 47th overall, after running times of 24.14 and 24.88.

In the men's 400m event, Zajdel placed 1st overall after earning a time of 49.30. Gravell placed two spots behind Zajdel, running a time of 50.15 to finish 3rd overall. Jordan Johnson placed 5th overall with a time of 51.56, and Brandon Scott placed 14th overall with a time of 53.17. Freshman Maltrin Ramadani (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and redshirt-junior Matthew Frisa (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) placed 3rd and 4th in the 400m hurdles after earning times of 1:00.97 and 1:01.77.

Sophomore Jacob Makhlouf (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) placed 15th overall in the 800m event, clocking in with a time of 2:13.54. Freshman Michael Daley (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) and graduate student KaHo Wong (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroder/SUNY Brockport/Quinnipiac) placed 20th and 22nd overall after running times of 2:18.14 and 2:23.61.

Freshman Carson Campbell (Lee Center, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) placed 18th overall in the men's 1500m, running a time of 4:23.17. Senior Jacob Cottet (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) earned himself a 23rd place finish after running a time of 4:31.11. Redshirt-junior Jake Roman (Liverpool, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/SUNY Morrisville) finished two spots behind Cottet, placing 25th overall with a time of 4:33.73. Freshman Brendan O'Rourke (New Milford, N.J./Bergen Catholic) and Wong placed 26th and 27th with times of 4:36.18 and 4:48.16.

Senior Jack Gibson (Ilion, N.Y./Central Valley Academy) placed 1st overall in the men's 3000m Steeple, clocking in with a time of 9:50.62. Sophomore Mike Purvis (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and sophomore Tyler Cooper (Sloatsburg, N.Y./Suffern) placed 3rd and 4th overall after running times of 10:23.43 and 10:40.71.

Freshman Liam Rocks (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) was the only Dolphin to compete in the men's 5000m event, earning himself a 4th place finish with a time of 16:15.28. The quartet of Brandon Scott, Frisa, Ramadani and O'Rourke placed 7th overall in the 4x400m relay after running a time of 3:38.06. Campbell, Cottet, Roman and Makhlouf also competed in the 4x400m relay, placing 9th overall with a time of 3:47.36.

In the field events, junior Adam Cuyler (Phoenix, N.Y./C.W. Baker) competed in the hammer throw event, placing 10th overall after earning a distance of 99-feet, 8-inches. Cuyler also placed 16th overall in the men's shot put after earning a distance of 39-feet, 5-inches. Junior Cyril Anderson (Manchester, N.H./Manchester) placed 9th overall in the javelin throw, setting a personal record after earning a distance of 147-feet, 4-inches. 

Walker earned himself an 11th place finish in the long jump event after jumping a distance of 20-feet, 5.25-inches. Freshman Carter DeRosa (Aubrun, N.Y./Aubrun) placed 22nd overall after earning a distance of 18-feet, 0.25-inches.

Freshman Jacey Locci (Stillwater, N.Y./Stillwater) had the most individual success on the women's side, earning a 1st place finish in the high jump event, jumping a height of 5-feet, 3.25-inches. Junior Lilly Capria (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) earned herself a 2nd place finish in the high jump, earning a height of 5-feet, 1.25-inches. Locci also competed in the 100m event, placing 19th overall after clocking in with a time of 13.66.

Freshman Sara Edmonson (Leonardsville, N.Y./Mount Markham) placed 5th overall in the 100m hurdles after earning a time of 17.02. Freshman Kiersten Lamphier (Woodhull, N.Y./Jasper-Troupsburg) placed 13th overall, clocking in with a time of 19.89.

Senior Delaney Manahan (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) placed 16th overall in the 200m event, running a time of 28.60. Edmonson placed two spots behind Manahan, placing 18th overall with a time of 28.91. Kiersten Lamphier placed 24th overall with a time of 30.29.

Freshman Caitlin Lamphier (Woodhull, N.Y./Jasper-Troupsburg) earned an 18th place finish in the 400m event after earning a time of 1:12.94. Freshman Jasmin Gonzalez-Rivera (Utica, N.Y./Thomas R. Proctor/Monmouth) earned herself a 2nd place finish in the 400m hurdles, running a time of 1:08.54. Freshman Lilly Gilles (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) placed 3rd overall after earning a time of 1:13.51. Sophomore Amanda Lowenguth (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) and classmate Stephanie James (Schenectady, N.Y./Scotia-Glenville/Saint Rose) placed 5th and 7th in the 400m hurdles, earning times of 1:15.59 and 1:16.96.

Sophomore Mackenzie Ples (Lowville, N.Y./Lowville) placed 13th overall in the 800m event after clocking in a time of 2:37.22. She also placed 18th overall in the 1500m event, running a time of 5:15.73. Senior Hailey Beckwith (Stephentown, N.Y./Berlin) placed 32nd overall after running a time of 6:01.91. Sophomore Angelina Rodriguez (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) placed 36th overall after running a time of 6:30.87.

The quartet of Gonzalez-Rivera, Locci, Gilles and freshman Isabella O'Donnell (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) placed 8th overall in the 4x400m relay, running a time of 4:35.00.

Freshman Lauren Shaler (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) placed 11th overall in the hammer throw after earning a distance of 106-feet, 6-inches. Senior Chelsea Dennison (Cato, N.Y./Cato-Meridian) placed 14th overall after earning 84-feet, 11-inches. 

The Dolphins are back in action next Saturday April 5th, as they're set to compete in the Cortland Red Dragon Open & Multi.
