MEN’S & WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD SET 21 PERSONAL RECORDS AT THE WEST POINT OPEN

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's & women's track & field team set 21 personal records at the West Point Open on Saturday.

"West Point is always a great way to come back from the Winter break," said head coach Robin Wheeless. "Christopher Zajdel (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) set another school record, this time in the 400m. Jack Gibson (Ilion, N.Y./Central Valley Academy) won the mile with an 18-second improvement on his personal record."

In the men's 200m, freshman Christopher Zajdel placed 3rd overall set a personal record after running a time of 23.09. Sophomore Christopher Moser (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) placed 9th overall after finishing the race in a time of 23.71. Junior Jordan Johnson (Plainfield, N.J./Timothy Christian School) placed 12th overall running a time of 23.99.

Zajdel set a program record in the 400m after finishing 1st overall running a time of 50.39. Sophomore Terry Tillock (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream) placed 10th overall in the 400m after running a time of 55.78.

In the men's 500m, sophomore Skylar Gravell (Malone, N.Y./Franklin Academy) set a personal record after placing 6th overall running a time of 1:08.45. Redshirt Junior Matthew Frisa (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) placed 10th overall after running a time of 1:09.55. Freshman Maltrin Ramadani (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) set a personal record after running a 1:12.69 and placing 15th overall.

Freshman Michael Daley (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) placed 6th overall in the men's 800m, running a time of 2:07.24, a personal record. Senior Jacob Cottet (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) placed 7th overall after running a time of 2:07.70. Junior Joseph Pecoraro (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph's By The Sea) placed 9th overall after running a time of 2:10.59.

Senior Jack Gibson earned his second-straight 1st place finish, this time in the Mile event, after setting a personal record with a time of 4:20.49. Sophomore Mike Purvis (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) set a personal record after placing 6th overall and running a time of 4:28.71. Sophomore Tyler Cooper (Sloatsburg, N.Y./Suffern) also set a personal record after placing 11th overall with a time of 4:32.52. Freshman Liam Rocks (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) set a personal record running a time of 4:40.54 and placing 14th overall.

In the men's 4x400 relay, the quartet of senior Brandon Scott (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee), Moser, Jordan Johnson and Zajdel placed 6th overall after running a time of 3:38.31. Senior Connor Scott (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee), freshman Brendan O'Rourke (New Milford, N.J./Bergen Catholic), Daley and Purvis placed 7th overall running a time of 3:45.01. Cooper, Gibson, Pecoraro and Frisa placed 8th overall after running a time of 3:45.51. Sophomore Jacob Makhlouf (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool), redshirt sophomore Jake Roman (Liverpool, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/SUNY Morrisville), placed 11th overall after running a time of 3:54.36.

Freshman Trevon Walker (Clay, N.Y.) placed 14th overall in the men's long jump after earning a distance of 20-feet, 3.75-inches.

Derosa earned himself a personal record after a 10th place finish in the men's triple jump, totaling a distance of 38-feet, 2.75-inches.

Junior Adam Cuyler (Baldwinsvile, N.Y./C.W. Baker) set a personal record in the men's shot put after placing 15th overall with a distance of 39-feet, 7.25-inches.

Sophomore Joseph Doran (Camden, N.Y./Camben) placed 12th overall in the men's weight throw with a distance of 41-feet, 3.25-inches.

"Both Rosalie Vincent (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) and Isabella O'Donnell (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) won their events, the 60 meter dash and the 1000 meter event," said coach Wheeless.

Senior Rosalie Vincent placed 1st overall in the women's 60 meters after running a time of 7.83.

Vincent also placed 2nd overall in the 200m event after running a time of 26.50. Senior Delaney Manahan (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) placed 12th overall after running a time of 29.22. Freshman Sara Edmonson (Leonardsville, N.Y./Mount Markham) set a personal record after running a time of 29.67 and placing 15th overall.

Manahan also placed 7th overall in the women's 400m after running a time of 1:11.13.

Sophomore Mackenzie Ples (Lowville, N.Y./Lowville) placed 13th overall in the 800m event after running a time of 2:39.01.

Freshman Isabella O'Donnell placed 1st overall in the 1000m event, setting a personal record with a time of 3:21.83. Sophomore Stephanie James (Schenectady, N.Y./Scotia-Glenville/Saint Rose) placed 2nd overall after running a time of 3:28.29. Senior Hailey Beckwith (Stephentown, N.Y./Berlin) placed 4th overall after running a time of 3:47.55.

The quartet of freshman Jacey Locci (Stillwater, N.Y./Stillwater) O'Donnell, Ples and James placed 4th overall in the 4x400 relay after running a time of 4:37.02. Freshman sisters Caitlin Lamphier (Woodhull, N.Y./Jasper-Troupsburg) and Kiersten Lamphier (Woodhull, N.Y./Jasper-Troupsburg), sophomore Angelina Rodriguez (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) and Edmonson placed 8th overall after running a time of 5:01.81.

Locci also placed 4th overall in the high jump event after earning a height of 5-feet, 3-inches. Junior Lilly Capria (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) placed 6th overall after jumping a height of 5-feet, 1-inch.

Capria also placed 4th overall in the women's long jump after earning a distance of 16-feet,1-inch.

"We had a lot of personal bests today, and I am sure there will be many more," said coach Wheeless.

The Dolphins are back in action next weekend as they head to Utica, N.Y. to compete in the Utica Winter Opener on Friday, January 17th.
