1959-60 Men's Basketball Team - Class of 2011
The Hall of Fame Class of 2011 marked the first time a team was honored. In earning a berth to the NCAA Division II Tournament, the 1959-60 men’s basketball team compiled an overall record of 14-5 and captured the MECCA championship playing against the likes of Siena, Iona, Saint Peter’s and Saint Francis (N.Y.). With the team’s success came accolades for head coach Thomas Niland as he was named the Syracuse Herald Journal, MECCA and Small College Coach of the Year. Among the members of the 1959-60 team were three current Hall of Fame members; Richard Lynch, William Stanley and John Caveny. The Le Moyne College Gold Wave is proud to induct the 1959-60 men’s basketball team into the Hall of Fame.
