Ted Grant '51 - Class of 2012
As a member of the first graduating class of the College in 1951, Ted Grant has set the bar for other alumni and supporters to follow with his commitment to Le Moyne College. What cannot be surpassed is his spirit and passion for Le Moyne Athletics that has grown over the last 60 years. During that time, Le Moyne has grown dramatically and Ted Grant’s tireless service has extended across campus. From 1981 to 1987, Grant was a member of the College’s Board of Trustees and Co-Chair of the 1982 annual fund with then-Congressman Jim Hanley. He served on the Oversight Committee and the Development Committee before assisting with the 1995 Annual Fund. In 1997, Grant was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award and was honored with the 1998 Simon Le Moyne Medal a year later. A long-time supporter of Le Moyne Athletics, the College proudly announced the naming of the basketball court to ‘Grant Court’ in November of 1999, in honor of the commitment by Ted and his wife Jane. On Sunday, the College will once again recognize Ted Grant’s commitment to the success of the Athletic program by dedicating the new turf complex field in his name. Tonight, we are honored to welcome Ted Grant, Class of 1951, as a member of the Le Moyne College Athletics Hall of Fame.
