John Tomsich ’99 – Class of 2010

John Tomsich, a 1999 graduate of Le Moyne College, started a program-record 112 games for Scott Hicks and Dave Paulsen. One of only four players in the program’s history named to the NABC All-America Team (1999, 2nd Team), Tomsich ranks third in career annals with 1,015 rebounds, fourth with 1,760 points and holds the record with 264 blocked shots. The 1999 Rev. J.J. O’Brien Senior Athlete Award Winner, Tomsich is fifth on the field goals made (668) and free throws made (424) charts and ranks 10th in field goal percentage at .534. A member of Le Moyne’s last two NCAA Tournament teams (1996 & 1997), Tomsich led the team in scoring each of his last three seasons, one of only eight players in the program’s history to do so. As a senior, Tomsich averaged 21.1 points and 11.7 rebounds, the eighth and fifth-best averages, respectively, in the program’s history. After graduation, Tomsich played professionally in Europe for six seasons, playing for teams in Finland and Portugal. He also played in the United States Basketball League for the Connecticut Skyhawks. An Accounting major with an English minor, Tomsich earned a Masters in Business Administration in 2007 from Drexel University, where he is currently the Assistant Director of Sports Information. He also volunteers his time instructing in various recreational basketball leagues throughout the east coast.
