Kim Black ’93 – Class of 2010
Kim Black, a 1993 graduate of Le Moyne College, appeared in 105 games, including 78 starts, for the women’s basketball team under the direction of Tom Cooney. Black ranks third all-time on the program’s all-time scoring chart with 1,562 points and is the all-time leader in three-point field goals made with 201, while also registering the highest three-point field goal percentage (.374). Black, who posted the third-highest career scoring average at 14.9 points per game, is third on the field goals made rankings with 591. The 1993 Rev. J.J. O’Brien Senior Athlete Award Winner, Black ranks second all-time with 276 steals and is fourth in career annals with 287 assists. In her four years, the Dolphins were 54-51, including a record of 31-16 at home. In her junior year, Black scored 442 points and averaged 17.0 points, placing fifth on the career charts in each category, while she hit 63 three-pointers, the program record up until the 2009-10 season. As a senior, Black led the Dolphins to a 16-10 record with 464 points and a 17.2 scoring average, the fourth-best total and average in the program’s history. A starter in all 27 games, Black finished the year one three-pointer shy of her program record established the year before. On February 22, 1993, Black set the program’s record for the most steals in a game with 10. On the single-season charts, Black ranks fifth (170, 1992-93) and seventh (166, 1991-92) in field goals made. On the steals list, Black places third (88, 92-93), sixth (77, 90-91) and eighth (69, 91-92).
