Robert C. “Chuck” Kulle ’93 – Class of 2005

Stature…

Le Moyne had made its mark on the major leagues from the mound.  The reputation of the baseball program and the transition to Division I was largely built on power pitching.  That began to change in the early 1990’s, as the Dolphins developed a powerful offense built around this natural slugger.  With a powerful frame and a fierce competitive drive, he was the quintessential power hitter, always capable of changing the complexion of a game with a single swing.

Bearing, attitude and confidence are attributes that can be learned.  Though his size provided one sort of stature, the other – respect gained by impressive achievement – had to be earned on the diamond.

Starting 117 consecutive games and playing through injury, he led the Dolphins in seasonal offensive categories ranging from batting average, to on-base percentage, to runs scored, to a school-record 67 RBI’s in his senior year.  He was selected MAAC-North Player of the Year, and named to the NCAA Northeast All-Region team.

He set Le Moyne career marks for home runs with 36 and RBI’s with 156; and ranks in the top five in hits, batting average, runs scored and walks.

Drafted into the Cleveland Indians organization after earning a B.S. in Mathematics/Management at Le Moyne, he played professional ball, earned a Masters Degree at The University at Binghamton and began a career as a financial planner.

As the lynchpin of the most prolific scoring baseball teams in Le Moyne College history, he earned stature among the college’s finest athletes through four years of consistent power hitting and therefore,
