Mike Montesano '95 - Class of 2012

Hailing from nearby Rochester and arriving on the Heights for his freshman season in the fall of 1991, Mike Montesano was a fixture in the starting line-up for each of his four seasons.   Playing under Hall of Famers John Beilein and Scott Hicks, Montesano established his legacy as one of the most prolific scorers in program history. In four seasons in green and gold, Montesano finished his career third on the all-time scoring list with 1,759 points. In his senior season, he received national honors being named a Division II All-American, one of only five in program history, as he set the single season record for most points in a season with 646. Montesano’s career mark of 23.1 points per game ranks third all-time behind only Hall of Famers Phil Harlow and Jene Grey. The capstone on his Le Moyne career came in the spring of 1995, as Montesano was awarded the prestigious Rev. J.J. O’Brien Male Senior Athlete Achievement Award. Today, Montesano serves as a teacher and Head Basketball Coach at Thomas Jefferson High School in his hometown of Rochester.  Tonight we are excited to welcome Mike Montesano, class of 1995 into the Le Moyne College Athletics Hall of Fame.
