The 1994-95 women's basketball team went 21-7, including a mark of 12-4 in the NECC, under the direction of Tom Cooney. The 21 victories were the most in the program's history until being surpass by this past season's team. After starting the season 0-2, winning five straight games and then dropping three out of four to fall to 6-5, the Dolphins rattled off 13 consecutive victories. The 13-game win streak was the longest in the program's history until it was eclipsed by a 14-game streak by the 2018-19 team. The Dolphins opened the NECC Tournament with their third win of the season over the University of New Haven, 67-53, at home. In the next round, held at UMass Lowell, the Dolphins fell in overtime to the University of Bridgeport, 75-73. The team averaged 70.1 points per game, the second-best mark in the program's history, while yielding just 61.0 points per game, the second-best mark at the time (tied for ninth now). The Dolphins grabbed 1312 rebounds and posted an average of 46.9 per game, marks that are still the best in the program's history. At the time, the team's 384 assists were the second-most on the program's charts, while their 307 steals established a new program record (second now). Junior Emily Anspach '96 led three Dolphins in double-digits scoring with 14.0 points per game to go along with a team-best 9.5 rebounds per game, the fifth-most in the program's history at the time and sixth now, and a then-program record 84 blocks en route to earning all-NECC honors. Jennifer Dennett and Randi Desiderio also scored in double figures with 11.5 and 11.3 points per game, respectively, while Desiderio also grabbed 7.8 rebounds per contest. Future head coach Jeanne Dupree '95 closed out her career as a student-athlete leading the team in assists (86), steals (60) and three-pointers (28).
