David Thomson ’81 – Class of 2010
David Thomson, a 1981 graduate of Le Moyne College, lettered four seasons for former head coach and Director of Athletics Dick Rockwell on the baseball team. A College World Series participant in three of his four seasons, Thomson blasted a home run against Valdosta State to lead off Le Moyne’s first-ever College World Series game in 1978. During the 1981 CWS, Thomas hit .714 in Le Moyne’s games against Cal. State Northridge and Eastern Illinois. A career .339 hitter, Thomson registered 180 hits, scored 162 runs, drove in 104 runs, stole 84 bases and walked 108 times. A finalist for the 1979 United States Pan-Am Games team, Thomson’s teams combined to go 132-32 over his four years. A member of the 1980 Cape Cod League champion Falmouth Commodores, Thomson has worked at Gexpro (formerly GE Supply) for the last 27 years and was the top salesperson in the company on a pair of occasions and managed the #1 branch nationally for four years. Thomson, who joins seven of his teammates in the Hall of Fame, is an avid golfer and cyclist.
